Our pieces going out to the world! @ Doma cafe

手作り感溢れ　心地良い空間で　いつも美味しいご飯を食べさせてくれるDoma cafeさん。

先週からサキュラントを置かせて頂き始めました。

このCafeはFederal（バイロンの町から車で３０分程山の中）まで足を運ぶ価値あり、ご飯も美味しく、雰囲気もゆる〜く、のんびりとした時間が流れています。私はいつも帰るのが嫌になってします程、一度腰を下ろしたら長居してしまう場所のひとつです

来週には地元アーティストとの　コラボレーション作品を展示販売を始めたいと思います。

是非　美味しいランチのついでに　覗いてみて下さい。

If u haven't been to this yummy Japanese cafe called Doma cafe... you must! It's so worth driving out to Federal(about 30min from Byron town by car) for enjoying their beautiful food and rustic homey atmosphere.

Our new succulent creation

Using recycled glass jars,bottles, tins, and cups  from generous friends and local cafes as well as 2nd-hand shop treasures. 
One of our concepts is 'reuse before recycle'.

Local cafes & sweet friends in Byron, thanks for keeping the bottles & tins for us instead of throwing  them in the recycle bin! 

新しい創作サキュラント

使い終わったボトル、缶など　お友達や地元のカフェの協力を頂いて集めた物や　リサイクル店をまわって長年集めたカップやグラスなど再利用し　新しい命を吹き込まれた植物達は　新しい人々の手へとゆっくりと渡って行きます。
『リサイクルする前にリユーズ』私たちのコンセプトの一つです。

Arranged succulents in vintage Pyrex tea cups. We love hunting and gathering 40's - 70's Fire king and Pyrex retro table wear, so why don't we use them as a plant pot to appreciate  them even more! 

サキュラント達をパイレックスのティーカップの中にアレンジしました。
４０〜７０年代のファイヤーキング、パイレックスなど　レトロなテーブルウエアーが大好きで　昔から大切にしまい込んでいた物も　こうしてお家の中に飾ることで食器達も生き返り　また違った楽しみ方が出来る事に気付きました。

KIMONO

These are dressed in vintage silk Kimono with cotton Obi around it.
They are going to display at the Doma cafe in Fedeal. A little present for our Japanese friends' big new cafe project!

着物

リサイクルのボトルに着物生地を巻いて　コットンのロープを使い帯のイメージで結んでみました。
これもまた　しまい込んでいた着物の生地を　勇気を出して切ってみたら　気持ち良くスイスイと制作がはかどり、難しいのは頭の中だけでした。。。
この２つのサキュラントは　日本人のお友達がオープンした素敵なカフェ『Doma cafe』へと嫁いで行きます。愛を込めて作った物を　愛の溢れる場所へと送り出すってとっても楽しみです。

My temporally workbench and seat....

Found this table on the street together with a chunk of off-cut timber from a cafe renovation site, found a few pieces which are great for display as well. These beautiful timber off-cuts are still fine to do more jobs! Saved from going to the bin ;)
We have been collecting all kinds of shells and drift wood for many years, some of them are from as far away as Hawaii, Indonesia, or Japan. They are very precious things for me, but it's also time to create something with them and pass it on...

今日のワークベンチの様子
オーストラリアでは使わなくなった物が『FREE』のサインと共に　道路の脇にぽつっと置かれいる姿をよく目にします。改装工事をしている脇にも　沢山の『使える素材』が捨てられていたり。
私の『新しい』ワークベンチと腰掛けもその一つ。　
一声かけてから　ありがたく頂いて来ました。
私たちが集め続けている流木や木の実　色々な国からやって来た貝殻達、いつまでも一緒に居たいけど　これもまた大切な制作材料になり　姿を変えて飛び立って行きます。
